– Irish CND is organising its customary commemorative ceremony in Merrion Square Park, Dublin
The ceremony will take place at the memorial cherry tree in Merrion Square Park, Dublin, at 1.10 pm on Thursday 6th August. There will be short speeches by Lord Mayor of Dublin Daryl Barron, Japanese Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission in Ireland, Mr Koji Hirohata, and Afri Board member, Dr Patrick Bresnihan (Maynooth University). – There will be a commemorative lantern vigil held at the Big Fish/Donegall Quay/Lagan Weir in Belfast from 9.00pm – 11.30pm on Wednesday 5th August to mark the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings and stand for nuclear disarmament today.
